The plugin allows to highlight continents and subcontinents. The first map example shows the world map with highlighted subcontinents. If you want to create a world map subdivided into continents, the map will look like this:
You can choose any color for continents and subcontinents. Another nice feature is that you are not limited to the world map. For the continent resolution, you can also set the focus of your map on a continent. For the subcontinent resolution, you can set the focus on a continent or subcontinent.
For example, if you only want to highlight the subcontinents of Europe, you would set the map region to Europe and then select Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe or Northern Europe.
The map configuration for the first map can be found below. If you want to get the second map, you can simply import the first map and then set “border resolution” to “continents”.
